| Description: Dimethyl sulfoxide (DMSO) is a chemical compound which is a by-product of wood processing. It has long been used as a chemical solvent. In the late 1960s, it also became popular as a topical pain relief medication for pulled, strained, and sprained muscles and joints. As well as being a painkiller, DMSO is believe to be effective in treating acne, skin ulcers, herpes, and cataracts. DMSO has anti-inflammatory properties when applied to the skin. It can help ease the pain of muscle injuries due to sports and fitness activities.1 It may also ease pain associated with arthritis. Useful in treatment of: Athletics and Sports, osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis. Recommended Dosage: DMSO is only available as a prescription drug.
