| Description: Nettles (Urtica dioica) are rich in Iron. The leaves can be used as a tea, and have long been considered a "pick-me-up" tonic. Nettles tea can be used to treat anemia, and may help in the treatment of hayfever. Nettle can be given as a high-concentration extract. When given in combination with Saw Palmetto and/or Pygeum, it has shown great promise as a treatment for Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia.1 Nettle leaf can reduce the occurrence of sneezing and eye itching related to hayfever.2 It can be taken in 450 mg tablets two to three times daily. Because it is a plant, however, it may exacerbate the symptoms of hayfever in some patients. Nettle leaf provides calcium and Iron. It also helps prevent water retention and increases breastmilk production.3 Natural Sources: Leaves can be eaten whole as part of a salad. Useful in treatment of: Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia, hayfever, pregnancy and Post Partum. Recommended Dosage: 450 mg two to three times daily. Contraindications: None. References: 1Koch E, Biber A.
