Octacosanol
Description: Octacosanol is a waxy substance found in sugar cane. It can also be found as one of the compounds in policosanol.
Octacosanol lowers LDL cholesterol while raising HDL cholesterol.
1 It appears to inhibit the body’s production of cholesterol.2
Octacosanol also appears to help treat atherosclerosis when it affects neck arteries.

Useful in treatment of: atherosclerosis, high cholesterol.

Recommended Dosage: 5 mg twice daily.

Contraindications: None.
