Kombu is a fat free, cholesterol free food, rich in dietary and soluble fiber, iodine, magnesium, potassium and calcium.

Atlantic kombu grows wild and is harvested by hand from pure Icelandic waters. It's dried using renewable geothermal energy to bring you the highest quality food source with a low carbon footprint.

Atlantic kombu is similar to Japanese kombu, and is also known as oarweed, tangle and fingered kelp. In Icelandic, it's called hrossapari.

Kombu is very useful as a seasoning for soups, stews, sauces and vegetable dishes. It is an excellent flavor enhancer and has the ability to make the food it is cooked with softer and more digestible.

For best cooking results, soak the kombu in water for 10 minutes and simmer for 40 minutes. You can also try adding a few strips of kombu to bean stews to speed up cooking time.

Great cooking in beans for tenderness and taste I had a recipe that I needed Kombu, so I ordered and so glad I did. I have learned to use it to season soups, beans, and other dishes. I recommend this product. September 5, 2014

New product for me, but great taste I needed for a new recipe, but it worked well and seasoned the food good. I plan to use in beans to make them soft, but haven't tried yet. I would recommend. March 18, 2014
This product has great features Exemplary Subject, right? Anyway, Now is a more important time than ever to make sure you get enough iodine in your diet. I steam this product and then put it into my smoothies, and I barely notice it's there. For more normal people, letting it soak in water is a better idea since it will make the seaweed more chewable. - or you can make a great miso soup with this. January 19, 2014
