Stoneridge Orchards Organic Dried Montmorency Cherries -- 4 oz
delicious and addictive
I bought these to put into homemade grain-free fruit and nut bars. I liked that these were organic (what's the point of making your own healthy snacks if you use fruit sprayed with toxins). I looked into the company and was glad to see there aren't any sulfites in these too. I do wish they wouldn't use sunflower oil due to its tendency to become rancid due to processing.
The cherries were delicious both in the bars I made and on their own straight from the bag. They were sweet and flavorful.

I will always choose organic if possible - so I was happy to see these cherries on Vitacost. I will also rarely write a bad review, but these cherries were kind of terrible. When you open the bag, all you can smell is this weird plastic-like smell. The cherries were not dried well and had a funky texture and taste. Even the kids would not eat them (and they will eat anything). Maybe I just got a bad bag or it was a bad batch, but for the price, I am not willing to try them again. I would go with the Vitacost brand, they are better priced and absolutely delicious. I chose to order these last time because of the organic status, but this is one of the rare occasions where it was not worth it to me.
