What is matcha green tea?

Matcha is a type of green tea that’s popular in Japan. A fine, bright green powder, it’s ground from the highest-quality Camellia sinensis (green tea) plants, typically shade grown and harvested when leaves are young and brimming with phytonutrients. Matcha contains compounds known as catechins, which are the most important antioxidant flavonoids found in green tea.*

Enjoying I recently bought the Matcha green tea powder and I am enjoying it. I usually add just a few drops of liquid stevia - either plain or vanilla cream and also a few drops of fresh lemon. I was able to actually add it to cold almond milk and protein powder to make a smoothie in my Magic Bullet. September 13, 2014
Little lumps of green tea Though the flavor is really nice, the tea does not dissolve very well in hot water. The powder is extra fine, so maybe there is a certain method to blending the tea and water together. I have to constantly stir the mixture before I drink it. September 13, 2014
I just don't care for the taste. I tried this tea cold a few times and wanted to like it but didn't! I think the taste is very peculiar and could barely finish each glassful. If only I had a blender and made smoothies (which I don't), it might taste all right disguised in a smoothy. But I don't make smoothies because I'd rather eat my food rather than drink it, and some of those smoothies have tons of calories! I'm going to stick to Prince of Peace organic green tea, which tastes delicious! September 12, 2014
Great Value I feel GREAT on the days that I drink this stuff. Notice that it is PURE Matcha at 2 G per serving. A better deal than the others available. September 1, 2014
Good value Some matcha tea has a slight fishy taste to me but not this stuff. This is almost sweet and works well hot or cold. It is a tad pricey but all good matcha is pricey. Will def buy again. August 27, 2014
