Woodstock Farms Organic California Medjool Dates with Pit -- 12 oz
I got these to try out a new raw diet desert - they never lasted long enough for me to try the recipe. Even my daughter who has the palate of a food critic, devoured these like there was no tomorrow. We love them!
They work perfectly for when you just want a little bit of sweetness. They satisfy my sweet tooth just like a chocolate would, without the GMO or the sugar. Awesome! Should come in a bigger bag.

These are moist, plump and sweet. Better than candy!

The only thing that could improve these dates would be if they were available without pits.
It would even be nice if there was a nut inside instead of a pit. Okay, I'm dreaming here. I like the flavor of these dates. That's why I buy them.

For those familiar with Medjool dates, these are the "Extra Fancy" variety(#3 grade). For those who are less familiar, that doesn't mean that they are of poor quality. It just means that they are of mixed sizes, may have some irregularities in color, and some skin separations as apposed to "Large"(#2 grade) and "Jumbo"(#1 grade) which are the very best of the best. I found these to be delicious, as good as any Extra Fancy Medjools I've had. For optimum flavor, freshness, and value, I would recommend ordering Medjools in bulk directly from the growers(September - October for freshest from new harvest), but if you want convenience, don't have that much room in your freezer for 4 or more pounds of dates, or aren't quite the date fiend that I am, then I would highly recommend this product. They are soft, goey, rich, and an absolute joy to snack on. For certified organic, the price is also pretty fair. I would recommend putting them directly into the fridge however. Not only will this extend their freshness, but I've found that the complexity of their flavor profile with all of the dark, rich, brown sugary notes is more evident when they are chilled. Enjoy!
