Worthington Vegetarian Burger Low Fat -- 1.4 lbs
I've been vegetarian all my life, so I grew up on this stuff (Worthington Foods and Loma Linda). There are only a few that I have in my pantry as a staple and this Veggie Burger is certainly one of them.
DISCLAIMER: When you take the lid off, I've always thought to myself: "to a meat eater, this must look like dog food!"
But, that being said - it's SO GOOD - forget what it looks like! I find it best to just scrape out with a fork. I use this for any thing and every thing that calls for hamburger. Sometimes I just sauté some diced green pepper/onions then throw this in and eat it right out of the skillet! I've used this is so many recipes where meat eaters are at a get together....in Sloppy Joe's, Chili, Meat Loaf, Lasagna, Nacho's, Pastichio, Moussaka and lots of veggie patty recipes too. (doesn't do well on the grill though). I even put a sign in front of it letting them know its NOT real meat, but, they are curious and want to taste it anyway. Shockingly, the meat eaters prefer this "burger" to real hamburger. It tastes better and certainly doesn't stink like hamburger. Highly recommended. Use it the same way you use cooked hamburger.
