Ingredients
Instructions
  1. Preheat oven to 325 degrees F. Line cookie sheet with parchment paper or non-stick baking mat.
  2. In medium bowl, combine brown rice flour, sweet brown rice flour, applesauce, arrowroot starch, olive oil and water. Mix well.
  3. Divide dough. Into one half, sprinkle beet powder. Into other half, empty chlorophyll capsules. Blend each thoroughly until color is smooth.
  4. Wrap each dough ball; let rest 5 minutes.
  5. Roll dough 1/4”-thick; liberally sprinkle with coconut. Roll rolling pin over to press coconut into dough.
  6. Using cookie cutters, cut shapes; arrange cookies on prepared baking sheet.
  7. Bake 25 to 30 minutes or until firm to touch and bottoms are golden brown. For softer treats, bake for less time.
  8. Transfer onto wire rack and let cool completely.
Recipe Notes

*For a deeper red, add more beet powder
**For a darker green, add a third capsule

Tips

For marbled treats: separate dough into small chunks. Press pieces together into a ball and roll out as directed above. Since repeated rolling and reforming can muddy marbling effect, keep some solid-color dough aside to add back in on a later re-roll.

Shelf-life & Storage

Crunchy: Keep stored in an airtight container in a cool, dry place. Treats will last 4 to 6 weeks. Refrigerate for longer shelf-life.

Soft: Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator or freeze up to 3 months. If your pooch doesn’t have teeth issues, there’s no reason you can’t give them a frozen treat.
