Organic India Tulsi Tea India Breakfast Description

  • Stress Relieving
  • Contains Caffeine
  • Powerful Adaptogen
  • Energizing & Clarifying
  • Abundant in Antioxidants

Deep, spicy, and revitalizing, India Breakfast Tulsi Tea has the fuller, heartier flavor drinkers of black tea adore. Its smooth taste is terrific alone, and delicious when enhanced by milk, soy milk, or other delicate creamer of your choice.

In this blend, we selected organic Assam (known for its body, briskness, malty flavor, and strong, bright color) and combined it with organic Ayerpadi, a special black tea leaf making headlines in the tea world for its deep, complex flavor.

In the Western World, green tea has gotten a great deal of attention. Yet researchers now believe that black tea provides many of the same health benefits as green tea. Studies of humans and animals show that the antioxidants in both black and green teas are highly beneficial to our health; they modify our metabolism to detoxify our body from harmful chemicals.

Both black and green tea come from the camellia tea plant and are rich in polyphenols, which are a type of antioxidant. These wonder nutrients scavenge for cell-damaging free radicals in the body and detoxify them. Whether it's green or black, tea has about eight to 10 times the polyphenols found in fruits and vegetable.

The "secret" ingredients in this virtuosic tea is Tulsi. Tulsi (also known as Holy Basil) is a powerful healing herb that has been revered for over 5000 years in India for its ability to relieve stress and boost the body's natural immune system. Organic India is the first company to bring Tulsi to the West as an organic tea. We work with thousands of farmers in India to cultivate the herb using environmentally sustainable methods, restoring vitality to the earth and dignity to its people.

Pour 8 oz of freshly boiled water over tea bag in a cup and infuse for 3 or more minutes. Add milk or dairy substitute and a sweetener if desired. Double the strength when serving cold.

Iced Tea: pour 2 cups of boiling water over 8 tea bags and steep for 20 minutes. Remove tea bags and add 2 cup of cold water. Refrigerate to cool, and pour over ice. Makes 2 quart.

A Fabulous Brand I decided to try this for a change, I have been drinking green teas and herbal varieties. It has been several years since I have drank the "darker" teas. It is a nice change and although most green teas have caffeine there seems to be more in this flavor. I do not drink a lot of caffeine these days and I can tell when I drink this-more pep. Not jittery. The flavor is spicy but a shot of honey can mellow this if I am not in the mood for "spice". It is a nice change of pace. November 16, 2014
The best breakfast tea! Love to sip on this first thing in the morning at work. The addition of the holy basil is delicious! December 15, 2013
Too "spicy" This tea has a clove/minty flavor about it that I wasn't fond of. I will finish the box. Steeping 10-15 minutes seemed to improve the flavor. December 30, 2012
Good stuff This is a very pleasent tasting tea with just enough of a caffeine lift that doesn't get me jittery. July 13, 2012
Fantastic blended recipe for tea This tea is a good way to have black caffeinated tea and soothing wonderful Tulsi in the same cup. Good jumpstart for the day and a win win, for us and the growers! Thanks for making this available. April 11, 2012
