  1. In medium saucepan over medium heat, warm almond milk, whisking often, until it begins to steam. (Note: Don’t let it boil.)
  2. To saucepan, add dark chocolate chips and whisk with milk until melted and smooth.
  3. Add cocoa powder, cherry juice, maple syrup, almond extract and salt. Whisk until everything is fully combined. Taste hot chocolate and adjust sweetness or cherry flavor, as needed.
  4. Pour into two mugs and top with whipped cream, sliced almonds and/or fresh cherries, as desired.
