Dry nails in a snap: Hate waiting for nail polish to dry? I was tired of having to touch up my fingertips immediately after painting ’em, until I discovered this solution: let nails air-dry for 2 minutes, then dunk in a bowl of ice-cold water to harden and set the polish.

Quick “beachy” waves: Can we all agree it’s silly to spend hours trying to achieve the “just stepped off the sand” look? Instead, get tousled locks in just a few minutes by braiding your hair in several different sections, then going over each one from top to bottom with a flat iron. Undo your braids and enjoy the compliments! (Tip: When braiding, use these no-damage elastic hair bands to prevent snags!)

Gentle makeup remover: I love to find new ways to use things I already have on hand. Coconut oil is one of my favorites because it has so many different uses. This product is not only great for cooking, it can multitask as both a moisturizer and a makeup remover! Simply add a small amount of coconut oil to a washcloth and swipe away makeup, even stubborn eye shadow and waterproof mascara. (Bonus: it doesn’t burn!)

Sunburn soother: Spent a little too much time at the beach or pool? The tannic acid in black tea is said to help tame that burning sensation. Simply steep 2-3 tea bags in a pitcher of water and dab the liquid on your skin – do not rinse off. (Bonus tip: chamomile tea may have a similar calming effect on angry skin.)
