I’m always on the go and tend to skimp on my skincare routine. What are some quick tips I can follow to get glowing skin?

Dr. Linda Miles L. Ac., D.O.M. responds:

The skin is the largest organ of the body and in saying that, it is probably pretty obvious that it does need adequate time and attention in order for it to look healthy and beautiful.   However, if you are always on the go or short on time, here are some quick, simple tips you can incorporate into your daily activities that will help you achieve glowing skin.

1.)   Cleanse.

Make the most of your time in the shower and cleanse your face with a pH balanced cleanser that contains gentle yet effective natural ingredients that won’t strip your skin of its natural oils.   Try derma e ®‘s Hyaluronic Hydrating Cleanser.

2.)   Moisturize.

After cleansing, it only takes a minute to massage a good quality, antioxidant-rich moisturizer into the skin.   Antioxidants help optimize the health of the skin, diminish the look of fine lines and wrinkles, even skin tone and support collagen and elastin health.   Try derma e ®‘s  Age-Defying Day and Night Crèmes.

3.)   Nourish.

Add antioxidant-rich fruits such as blueberries or strawberries to your breakfast, and healthy nutrient-rich packed greens such as kale, spinach or broccoli to your lunch and dinner.   For truly healthy skin, you must nourish from the inside, out.

4.)   Hydrate.

Carry a bottle of water with you at all times to ensure you are drinking at least eight glasses throughout the day.   Cells must stay hydrated for plump, radiant and younger-looking skin.   For a quick, hydrating skin fix, spray on derma e ®‘s Hyaluronic Hydrating Mist.

5.)   Relieve stress.

Take 10-20 minutes during your lunch break and go for a brisk walk.   During this time, breathe, stretch and meditate. This will help relieve stress and promote an overall healthier physical body that in turn leads to rejuvenated, more vibrant skin.

Maintaining healthy skin does not have to be as difficult and time consuming as you may think.   Incorporating these quick and simple tips into your daily routine can help you achieve glowing, beautiful skin as well as better overall health.
