From cleansing to covering, your morning skin care routine is just as important as eating breakfast. The steps you take now will set you up for radiant (or not-so-radiant) skin for the rest of the day. Too busy before you head out the door? The beauty gods won’t disown you for skipping the eye serum or slacking on the rose water spray. Trust me, if I can get away with not washing my face every morning, you can, too!
Step #1: Rinse with cold water (and maybe cleanse with a gentle formula)
If I wash my face in the morning, I’ll use a very gentle cream cleanser from Mad Hippie. It features so many great oils and extracts that help balance skin.
Step #2: Tone and brighten
Andalou Naturals Clementine + C Illuminating Toner will tone and brighten, thanks to vitamin C.
Step #3: Soothe with a serum
Speaking of C, a vitamin C-enriched serum can help with hyperpigmentation and stimulate collagen production. I use one from CSI every single day.
Step #4: Moisturize and defend
I’ve been loyal to this age-defying moisturizer for years and can’t get enough.
Step #5: Treat delicate eyes
A rich, moisturizing formula is the way to go. I’ve been enjoying Skyn Iceland Relief Eye Cream, but find one that does not irritate your eyes – that’s most important!
Step #6: Protect skin for the day
Since my favorite age-defying moisturizer doesn’t provide enough SPF, I double-up with Glonaturals Broad-Spectrum Sunscreen SPF 30.
Step #7: Hydrating lips
The skin on your lips is thin and sensitive to even the little bit of sunshine we get in the winter. EOS Lip Balm in Strawberry Sorbet is one of my all-time favorites, because it’s 100% natural and 95% organic ingredients.
