Instead of relaxing tonight after work with a glass of wine, you may want to try a glass of acai berry juice instead! The acai berry, found deep in the Brazilian rainforest, is rich in anthocyanins, a flavonoid compound found naturally in fruits and vegetables. Acai berries contain high levels of anthocyanins, the antioxidants believed to give wine its many benefits.

But what exactly makes acai a “wonder fruit”? The acai berry is a rich source of fiber and protein, and also contains high levels of omega-6 and omega-9 essential fatty acids, which are believed to support cardiovascular strength and heart health. The antioxidants found in the acai berry are believed to help support healthy aging and normal energy levels.

The acai berry is available in many forms including extract capsules, juices, teas and power scoops. Acai has been used for thousands of years by the natives of Brazil for its numerous benefits. Acai berries contain 10 times the antioxidant benefits of grapes and twice that of blueberries”¦. I guess one can say that it really is a wonder fruit!
