Chocolate is super versatile. You can put it on (or in) pretty much anything for instant sweet tooth satisfaction. Unfortunately, packaged chocolate often comes with a questionable list of ingredients. Lecithin? Milkfat? No thank you.
When it comes to chocolate, there’s no messing around. We want the real stuff. That’s why we use Enjoy Life chocolate chip varieties, made from just three ingredients, in just about everything we can. These tasty chips are free from the eight most common food allergens and you can rest assured that the following recipes are nut-, gluten-, egg- and GMO-free.
1. Melt it
Coating a freshly picked strawberry in layers of melted chocolate is always a fan favorite. But did you know that pretty much every fruit tastes good covered in this sweet sauce? Get adventurous this summer by trying it with pineapple, watermelon and kiwi. Use a double boiler to melt the chocolate chips. Then, dip in your fruits of choice, cool and repeat!
2. Blend with avocado
Your favorite guac ingredient just met its match in this chocolate avocado mousse recipe. It’s perfect for those nights (or mornings) you want to indulge without throwing off your healthy goals.
3. Sweeten your seeds
Beat the summer morning heat by making this overnight chia pudding. This cool alternative to oatmeal combines protein-packed chia seeds, cinnamon and creamy chocolate to take your taste buds for a ride. The best part? This pudding practically makes itself! Mix the ingredients in a jar and place in your refrigerator overnight. Now you’ll have more time in the morning to do… everything else!
4. Make mini treats
Strawberries and chocolate are basically the dessert equivalent of peanut butter and jelly, as suggested above (so we’re going for it again in this next one). These chocolate strawberry mini cheesecakes will have you wishing every season was strawberry season. So make them now, while these red berries are at peak freshness, instead of reaching for that tub of sugary ice cream in the freezer.
5. Build a better bar
These triple-layered chocolate sunseed bars taste like chocolate peanut butter cups without the nuts, dairy or gluten. Stacked high with sweet-and-savory flavor, each creamy, chocolate square takes dessert to a whole new level—three new levels, to be exact.
6. Re-think s’mores
We’re trading in our roasting sticks for a cast-iron skillet to make this gluten-free baked s’mores dip. It all starts with a thick layer of your favorite baking chocolate varieties (mini chips, mega chunks, morsels? We choose ‘em all!) topped with vegan marshmallows. Serve with allergy-friendly cookies for dipping!
7. Dessert-ify your breakfast
Turn your Sunday-morning waffle into a waffle sundae! Top your favorite waffle or pancake recipe with homemade hot fudge sauce and mini chocolate chips for an extra sweet breakfast your family will happily indulge in. For a real treat, go all out by making this cookies & crème waffle sundae recipe.
8. Decorate your smoothies
Whichever way you blend it, rim your smoothie jar with chocolate or simply toss in a handful of mini chips. If you missed the epic vegan chocolate chip shake Sara Organic Eats made on VitaVibes Live, watch it now for inspiration!
