Butterscotch brings back memories of visits to grandma’s house – remember snatching a treat from the candy bowl or fishing one from her purse? Now you can incorporate some of that nostalgia into your morning routine, thanks to an underused ingredient that deserves a lot more love and attention than it gets (move over, vanilla extract!). Butterscotch flavoring is the best way to add the flavors of yesteryear to your hip, hemp-and-maca-powered smoothie – it’s also a welcome addition to baked goods, coffee, pudding and, of course, homemade candy.

Grandma may not know what “hemp” is, but I think she’ll still approve!

Hemp-Cashew Butterscotch Smoothie

Butterscotch-Cashew Hemp Smoothie

Ingredients

2 scoops Hemp Pro 70 Unsweetened Protein Powder
1-2 tsp chia seeds
1 -2 tsp. maca powder
2 Tbsp. unsweetened cacao powder
1 tsp. butterscotch flavor
3/4 cup unsweetened vanilla cashew milk (carageenan-free)
Ice, desired preference

Directions
Combine all of the ingredients into a high speed blender or food processor and blend into the consistency you prefer. For thinner smoothies, add a little more milk.
