It’s all about perspective

Do you ever feel like all you do is complain about how hard it is to be a mom? I know sometimes I will catch myself for a third or fourth day in a row thinking to myself at dinner time “Is he going to cry like this every time I put him in his high chair?”

As mature women, I think we need to admit our truths and mistakes and confide in one another. Being a parent is hard work to say the least. But in the wake of recent tragic events, it’s more important than ever to take a step back and re-evaluate our perspective.

Think about all the parents that lose children every day. Imagine how they would feel just to hear their baby cry once more. Just to wash their clothes for the 10th time in two days because they’re so active playing they’re continuously getting them dirty.

When you think about how much time you don’t have but still have to care for your child, remember that there are some people who don’t get the luxury to see those smiles and feel those hugs. If you’re a parent to a baby that is waking up for night feedings, give thanks that your baby is healthy and hungry.

Life is about your perspective. You can sit around and you can pout, complain, and drag your feet – and you assume the only person you’re hurting is yourself. But you’re also setting an example, one that will shape your child’s perspective as well. When you change your perspective and decide that it’s not that bad, you will project happiness to everyone you come in contact with.

How can you change your negative thoughts into positive vibes today?
