Different smells remind us of people, places, things – even seasons. When it comes to perfume, my preferences vary throughout the year; heavier, warmer scents in the winter and light, airy fragrances during spring and summer.
Because changing seasons can also mean changing skin chemistry, it’s definitely a good idea to switch up your signature scent when the temperatures heat up. Here are some of my favorite fragrances for the summer season — each is made with natural, non-chemical ingredients:
- If you like the smell of fresh, tropical fruit, you’ll love Sunshine Spa Mango Perfume Oil. This cruelty-free fragrance contains absolutely no harsh chemicals – it’s made from plant and flower oils. Even though I usually need to re-apply at least once, I prefer the subtle, sweet mango scent to other, more overpowering products.

- Cool off on those summer days with a spritz of Zum Mist Lavender Lemon. Made of pure essential oils, this all-purpose spray imparts a combination of tart lemon and soothing lavender to take your mind off the sweltering heat. Use as a perfume or air freshener.
- If you prefer a sweeter scent, try Love and Toast Honey Coconut. Tuck the adorable bottle in your purse or makeup case for those times when you need a spritz of something soft, sweet and delicious.
- Curb your craving for citrus with Deep Steep Body Spritzer in Tangerine Melon. This light and playful spray invigorates dry skin with pure oils, while leaving behind a fresh, fruity aroma.
