Green coffee bean extract. What’s the deal with green coffee bean extract – what is it made from and why is it good for you? Find out in this week’s HealthFlash video:

DHA. One of the most important essential fatty acids, DHA (docosahexaenoic acid) is the most abundant omega-3 found in the brain and retina. It’s a crucial component of heart tissue, and helps make up the structure of nerve cells in the eyes and brain. Because our bodies don’t make DHA naturally, it must be obtained through diet. Sources include fatty fish (tuna, mackerel, salmon) and algae. When shopping for a fish oil supplement, look for one that contains DHA.

Protein. Move over, vitamin D. According to a recent market research survey, the nutrient people of all ages are most interested in is protein. Whole grains and omega-3 EFAs were also popular picks.
