Homemade Vanilla Hemp Milk

Whether you prefer to avoid all animal products or are just looking for a plant-based alternative to accompany gluten-free granola, this vanilla hemp milk is the answer. You’ll quickly forget about that dairy drink you once knew when you’ve got a slightly nutty, naturally sweetened milk substitute chillin’ in the fridge. This hemp variety is loaded with omega-3s, calcium, iron and protein. Plus, it only takes a minute to make!

Homemade Vanilla Hemp Milk

Makes 4 cups

Ingredients

6-8 deglet dates
1 cup hemp seeds
4 cups water
½ tsp. vanilla extract or 1 whole vanilla bean

Directions

  1. In a high-speed blender, add dates, hemp seeds, water and vanilla extract. Process on high for about 30 seconds.
  2. Pour milk into a container and store in the fridge for up to five days. Shake or stir before serving if separation occurs.
