Sometimes it’s just too dang cold to go outside. When the weather turns icy and the temperature dips down low, your date nights can fall by the wayside. Don’t let your relationship get cabin fever. Here’re a few fun ways to make the most of your cozy nights at home.

Movie Night
Pop some corn, pour some wine and push play! Cuddle together under a cozy blanket and watch a movie that isn’t animated for once. Something with subtitles, grown-up humor or even *gasp* an R rating. Laugh together, be romantic, or discuss deep, meaningful topics spurred on by the films you choose. These are the ways you used to connect when you were dating, these are the ways you can still connect today.
Play a Hand
When was the last time you played a game of cards with your man? Gin Rummy, Bridge, Poker, Go Fish or War, it doesn’t matter as long as you’re having fun. If you don’t know any card games, learn to play together. There are plenty of online resources to teach you the rules of the game. Indulge your inner child and giggle your way through Go Fish. Or test your luck and your self control with a naughty game of Strip Poker. An inexpensive way to create hours of entertainment for you and your man.
Bon Appetite
We’ve talked about cooking together as a way to increase your intimacy, but I challenge you to take it to a whole other level. No, I’m not talking about any kinky 9 1/2 weeks kind of action. I suggest you embrace the thrill of the unknown, mixed with a hint of trust, and submit to a blindfolded dinner. Now, obviously you can’t both be blindfolded, so this is a Part 1 and Part 2 type of date night. Take turns preparing and feeding surprise meals for each other. Without your sight, your other senses will be heightened. Experience how rich, sweet, savory, and seductive the sensations of food can be. (Please, only do this when your relationship is in a good place. No tricks, no gross foods and no fondue, because that’s just an accident waiting to happen.)
Geeks Unite
Is there something you and your man totally geek out over? Do eactly that for the entire night and love every geeky minute of it. Have a Lavern and Shirley marathon. Play World of Warcraft together until your thumbs are numb. Serenade each other with Motown classics until you’re hoarse and collapsing into each other’s arms. Whatever you’re “thing” is, be that, do that and enjoy the fact that your perfect match is right alongside you in all of your geek glory.
