Kukicha-Coconut Tea Latte

by | Updated: December 3rd, 2016

If you’re already coco for coconuts, you’ll go cuckoo for a Kukicha-Coconut Tea Latte. Kukicha is a Japanese twig tea, which is similar to green tea but made by brewing the stems of the plant versus the leaves. You can find kukicha in tea bag form, but the flavor from the brewed whole twigs is worth waiting on a pot to boil – as long as you aren’t watching it.

Recipe: Kukicha-Coconut Tea Latte

Ingredients

¼ cup Kukicha loose tea
8 drops NuNaturals Lo Han Supreme liquid sweetener
1 cup coconut milk
5 cups filtered water

Directions

  1. In a saucepan over medium heat, combine tea and water and bring to a boil. Once boiling, lower heat and let simmer for 5 minutes. Set aside to cool slightly.
  2. Pour brewed tea through a strainer to separate out twigs. Discard twigs or save them to re-brew if you’d like.
  3. In a blender, add 2 cups brewed tea with sweetener and milk. Process on high for 2 minutes.
  4. Serve hot and sip for joy!
