Halloween is the time when kids want creepy-crawly, gross desserts and treats. Have you ever seen those cookies made to look like witches fingers? They literally make me gag. And heaven help the person who serves me anything with a spider on it. Despite all of the various ways people try to flip me out on this glorious holiday, the one d fantastical recipe I can get behind is Dirt Dessert. Not only is it easy, you can make it with all non-GMO ingredients, and the presentation is fun with only a bit of eww factor.
Ingredients
1/3 cup non-GMO black chia seeds
1 can (13.5 oz) coconut milk
3 Tbsp. organic honey
3 Tbsp. cacao powder
1 Tbsp. vanilla extract
1 pkg. chocolate sandwich cookies
1 pkg. gummy worms
Directions
- In large bowl, combine coconut milk, chia seeds and cacao powder and mix well. Portion into dessert cups and refrigerate overnight.
- Separate sandwich cookies and scrape out cream. Place cookie pieces in a paper or zip-top bag and crush them using a rolling pin or the flat side of a meat tenderizer to make “dirt.”
- Spoon crushed cookies over pudding and arrange a few gummy worms on top.
