Not Tonight Honey, I Have a Headache

Valentine’s Day is right around the corner, and I hate to sound like some kind of old-fashioned 1950s housewife TV character, but I’m not really sure I’m gonna be in the mood for romance (sorry, sweetie!) because it feels like someone is squishing my head. With pointy pliers. While playing heavy metal music. It’s just not very sexy.

Anyway, I took the day off work today to try to naturally relieve the pain with yoga and rest and pretty much ended up lying on the couch all day. I had on my favorite TV doc show (on mute) with a cloth over my head when I saw that the episode was about pain relief! Lucky me””as lucky as I could feel with squished-plier-head-syndrome.

I never heard of some of these natural remedies but definitely will check out:

Corydalis, or Chinese poppy, which apparently has been used in Asia for pain for centuries.

Magnesium citrate“”another good one to try!

My go-to remedies for headaches, for what it’s worth, are Feverfew and White Willow Bark. (Which I brilliantly left in my desk at work yesterday. Grrr.)
