Sure, you could declare Waffle Wednesday as a personal break from your boring egg-white scramble. Or, you could enjoy this Belgium breakfast whenever the mood strikes. Even if you crave them every day, this recipe has your back. Your mornings will move right along thanks to a convenient, buttermilk pancake mix that’s loaded with 17 grams of protein per serving. Add almond milk and spices, and it’s a piece of (griddle) cake!

High-Protein Buttermilk Waffles

Nutmeg Protein Waffles 

Ingredients

½ cup FlapJacked Buttermilk Protein Pancake Mix
½ cup unsweetened almond milk
½ tsp. ground nutmeg
Coconut oil for greasing

Topping: Wild Friends Vanilla Espresso Almond Butter, melted

Directions

  1. In a medium bowl, mix all ingredients together (except coconut oil and almond butter).
  2. Pour batter onto a greased waffle griddle over medium-high heat, about 3-5 minutes.
  3. Drizzle with melted almond butter or maple syrup…or whatever you like…and dig in!
