Baby, it’s hot outside! Weather this extreme can be stressful for your skin””you’ve got the UV rays to contend with, for one, and even when you’re enjoying a cool summer breeze, the wind can be damaging, too. Even becoming a shut-in and staying cooped up isn’t the answer, because the low humidity of indoor climates is no friend to your complexion, either.

Take extra care to moisturize your skin and it will stay healthy and supple even in the harshest conditions. A few other tips for smooth, healthy skin:


  • Moisturize often, up to 6 times per day if necessary.
  • Apply moisturizer generously after showering (a hot shower can strip away your natural oils) or just before going to bed.
  • Be sure to take special care with areas that are exposed to harsh conditions or prone to dryness, including your hands, elbows, feet, knees and face.
