Spiced Pumpkin Hummus

Dress your hummus up this Halloween season with a pumpkin-y twist! While this dip is undoubtedly delicious in its traditional form, there’s something about adding some fall flavor to make this snack a true crowd pleaser.

All you need is a food processor to make this simple one-step recipe. Combine pure pumpkin puree, tahini, cinnamon and classic hummus spices for a creamy spread you’ll definitely want to share at your next fall gathering. Serve this seasonal fan-favorite with beet chips, sweet potato chips and sliced veggies.

Ingredients
15.5-oz. can chickpeas
1/2 cup + 1 Tbsp. pumpkin puree
3 garlic cloves
1 Tbsp. Vitacost Organic Tahini
1 Tbp. water, or as needed
Juice from 1 lemon
2 Tbsp. Vitacost Organic Extra Virgin Olive Oil
1/2 tsp. ground cumin
1/2 tsp. smoked paprika
1/4 tsp. ground cinnamon
1/4 tsp. chipotle powder
1/2 tsp. salt, or to taste

Toppings
Extra virgin olive oil
Pumpkin seeds
Smoked paprika
Tortilla chips
Parsley or cilantro

Directions

  1. In food processor, pulse ingredients until smooth. Scrape down sides as required. Adjust seasonings to taste. (Note: If hummus is too thick, add more water.)
  2. Spoon into serving bowl and drizzle with extra virgin olive oil. Garnish with pumpkin seeds, smoked paprika and chopped parsley or cilantro.
