There’s nothing more disappointing than drinking a bland, watery smoothie first thing in the morning. But if you’re vegan or avoiding dairy products, creamy add-ins like milk or yogurt are not welcomed in your beverage. Instead, use coconut milk to thicken your smoothie. It’s rich, luscious and much more flavorful than cow’s milk. In this recipe, greens and hemp protein powder are combined with coconut milk and spicy splash of cayenne for a thick, velvety beverage that’s only disappointing once it’s all gone.

Spicy Surprise Green Smoothie

Ingredients

2 scoops Manitoba Harvest Hemp Pro 70 Protein Powder
1/3 cup spinach, frozen
2 Tbsp. pistachios
2 Tbsp. cilantro (stems included)
Cayenne pepper, to taste
¼ cup unsweetened vanilla coconut milk
Ice, texture preferred

Directions

In a blender, combine all ingredients and process until smooth.
