The Beauty of Trying New Products

It’s easy to get stuck in a beauty rut. But, before you wake up one day with the same pressed powder compact you used in high school, explore the market a bit. I promise, you won’t be disappointed. Skin, body and hair products have come a long way to cater to every woman’s needs. Best of all, you can now find earth-friendly, animal-friendly and allergen-friendly beauty goods that work!

As you know, I love experimenting with new beauty products to keep things fun and fresh! These are my latest body, skin and hair finds:

Body – Ahava is new to me, but they seem like a great value, because their packaging is HUGE, they don’t do any animal testing and their ingredients lists are simple and pure — sold! To exfoliate my rough spots, I’m trying Aura Cacia Mineral Bath Salt . I’ll follow that up with the  Ahava Mineral Body Lotion,  which smells really clean. I’m excited for that one!

Skin – I was jealous of the MyChelle giveaway winner, so I had to pick up the Fruit Enzyme Mist  for myself. I’m interested in comparing several facial mists to see how they perform over makeup. So I chose a few different ones to test out, including the MyChelle Apple Brightening Mist and the Earth Tone Herbal Tonic Mist. We’ll see which one holds up all day. Check back for my results video.

Hair –  Because I’m trying to practice what I preach, I’ve decided to change up my hair-care routine. I’ve been using the same products for years, but I think I’m missing out on nutrient-rich stylers like…a blow dry lotion. Surprisingly, I’ve never tried one before. Here’s to hoping the Blowpro Mane Tame really works to tame my colder-weather static!

I also grabbed  Giovanni 2chic Flat Iron Styling Mist to protect my poor hair from all the heat damage I subject it to. The argan oil is ultra-nourishing, so this will go on after I blow dry to help style and rejuvenate my strands. The Giovanni Shine of the Times Finishing Mist is another one to try for an extra shot of gloss. This brings me to my beauty tip of the day: If you swap just ONE of your beauty products for a more natural solution, change up your hair shine spray. These tend to be the worst due to VoCs (yes, the stuff in wall paint) and chlorofluorocarbon, which are considered harmful chemicals to you and the environment. Giovanni is free of all that junk, is salon-tested and made with a vegetable protein base. Pretty is as pretty does!
