Wait…you don’t have perfect skin? Well, guess what? You’re far from alone. Whether you’re battling breakouts or dealing with dryness, MyChelle has a solution for you. Here are the five most common skin issues women face and some natural ways to fix them.

Skincare Problems--Solved

1. Wrinkles

What are they?

Wrinkles are furrows, folds or crease in the skin that increase over time as a result of sun exposure and the natural aging process. Wrinkles are associated with decreasing skin elasticity, which also leads to sagging. Wrinkles are identified by their characteristics of a long, narrow shape or line often appearing around the eyes, mouth and forehead.

What should you do?

Start using an eye cream now because we age in this area first! Incorporate peptides and plant stem cells into your daily routine to minimize and prevent wrinkles and firm the skin. Most importantly, protect your skin form the suns damaging UV rays.

MyChelle recommendation:

Use the Fabulous Eye Cream daily. This advanced formula nourishes the delicate eye area while minimizing the look of fine lines. Revolutionary edelweiss plant stem cells inhibit collagen breakdown and are clinically proven to reduce wrinkle depth by 15 percent after only 20 days of use. Hyaluronic acid binds moisture within the skin, smoothing and firming the eye area. You can even use as a spot treatment on the fine lines around the mouth.

2. Rough or uneven texture

What is it?

Texture is the skin’s smoothness—everything from raised areas (like pimples, milia, blackheads or dead skin cells) to dips in the skin (such as fine lines, open pores and open hair follicles) affect the skin’s texture. Dryness, acne, sun damage and sensitivities can all contribute to an uneven texture as well.

What should you do?

Basic exfoliation techniques will help slough off the dead skin cells and smooth the overall texture of the skin. Use either a physical scrub or enzymatic peel to exfoliate regularly and consider incorporating vitamin A into your regular routine.

MyChelle recommendation:

Vitamin A Plus Serum, is a skin-refining vitamin A blended with nourishing antioxidants that improve the texture and smoothness of rough, dull and congested skin. Retinol and naturally-derived Vit-A-Like™ work together to resurface the skin, clearing pore blockage and minimizing the appearance of lines. Argan oil, naturally high in vitamin E and essential fatty acids, works to balance sebum production and soften skins texture.

3. Hyperpigmentation or age spots

What are they?

As we get older, our skin accumulates the detrimental effects of environmental exposure and UV stress, which causes damage at multiple layers in the skin. Overexposure to the sun not only leads to the occasional sunburn but also to premature aging, wrinkles and a dull, uneven appearance. There are all kinds of factors that can lead to hyperpigmentation (a darkening of the skin); causes include various antibiotics, certain pharmaceutical drugs and even pregnancy.

What should you do?

Protect and repair, first and foremost. Always protect the skin with a sun protectant featuring a minimum sun protection factor (SPF) of 15. Use reparative products containing high doses of antioxidants to repair free radical damage. Regular exfoliation, deep hydration and restorative nutrients can also help reduce the look of hyperpigmentation.

MyChelle recommendation:

Use the Replenishing Solar Defense to repair and avert photo-damage brought on by the sun’s aging rays while maintaining protective moisture. ZinClear™ non-opaque zinc oxide provide natural protection against both UVA and UVB, without harsh chemicals. A blend of kukui and macadamia oils combines with red algae to reduce the look of lines and wrinkles brought on by environmental stress.

4. Oily skin and breakouts

What are they?

Many things, including hormones, oil overproduction, environmental aggressors and comedogenic skin care products can all cause breakouts. Oily skin is caused by overactive sebaceous glands, which produce an excess of oil. This problem can be hereditary or hormonal and is often characterized by serious dehydration from harsh skincare products and/or the lack of proper moisture.

What should you do?

Be consistent in your routine and make sure to use bioactive cleansers, treatments and nutrients to purify, detoxify and heal your skin daily. Avoid using products heavy in oils and fragrances which can cause increased irritation and blemishes. Also, don’t “pop” or “pick” the breakouts, this can cause long term damage to the skin.

MyChelle Recommendation:

Add the Clear Skin Serum into you morning and evening routine. This potent formula minimizes surface shine while improving the clarity of oily and blemish-prone skin. Retinol resurfaces skin and clears pore-blocking debris while Montmorillonite clay detoxifies and absorbs excess oil. Totarol™, a botanically-derived antibacterial, and B vitamins assist in the growth and repair of skin tissues.

5. Dryness

What is it?

A lack of moisture in skin often results from environmental aggressors that are sometimes out of our control. These include exposure to hot or cold weather with low humidity levels, excessive bathing in hot water and using harsh chemical irritants. Skin dryness can cause many outcomes including an uneven, dull appearance, deep irritation, discomfort and weakened cells.

What should you do?

Proper exfoliation helps remove the buildup of dead skin cells and allows other products to penetrate more effectively. Regularly moisturizing is crucial to relieving dehydration, reducing redness and reestablishing healthy, radiant skin. Make it a goal to exfoliate and mask with a hydrating treatment two to three times per week and give your skin deep hydration and restorative nutrients daily to help bring back plumpness and natural radiance.

MyChelle Recommendation:

Use the dynamic duo of the Tropical Skin Smoother and the Hydrating Cactus Mask to exfoliate and hydrate, restoring healthy, happy skin. The Tropical Skin Smoother works to exfoliate and retexturize for a youthfully soft and vibrant complexion. Ultra-fine bamboo stem powder and 1.6 percent lactic acid release and dissolve dead cell build up to give dry skin a brighter appearance. Rich in vitamins and minerals, exfoliation also helps ingredients deeply penetrate into the skin.

After rinsing away your exfoliator, apply the Hydrating Cactus Mask and leave on for 15 to 20 minutes. This rich mask softens, soothes and maintains hydrating moisture. Skin protecting and antioxidant-rich prickly pear cactus combines with soothing blue agave to ease discomfort and signs of redness – while deeply hydrating and preventing moisture loss. Protection is further enhanced with Smithsonite and Malachite stone extracts to shield against environmental stress and pollution. For an intensive treatment leave the mask on overnight.
