Vitacost Haul: Restocking for the New House

by | Updated: December 2nd, 2016 | Read time: 3 minutes

Moving from house to house – or state to state as we did – requires scaling down temporarily. Since we packed most of our belongings in our car and drove to Seattle, we are really living in simplicity right now. As much as we love eating out and trying the million different restaurants and coffee houses in our new city, we eventually had to break down and restock our home necessities.

These are our favorite cleaning supplies and snack foods that didn’t make the car drive. Once again, Vitacost came to the rescue with their great natural products and unbeatable prices.

Cleaning supplies

Seventh Generation All Purpose Natural Cleaner: I love that it has no harsh fumes.
Ecover Dishwashing Liquid : We don’t have a dishwasher in this new house, so I pour this into a dish-cleaning wand – works wonders!
Mrs. Meyer’s Honeysuckle Liquid Hand Soap: You can count on Mrs. Meyer’s products to be free of junk and their scents are so sweet and unique.

Food

Amy’s Medium Salsa: Because chips and salsa is our favorite snack. P.S. – I might have bought four of these jars.
Garden of Eatin’ Organic Yellow Corn Tortilla Chips: These are gluten free and obviously perfect with Amy’s salsa.
Sweet Leaf Lemonade Tea & Peach Tea: Made with natural flavors and certified organic, this iced tea brand is my favorite – plus, the cute label makes me smile.
Steaz Iced Green Tea in Peach: Organic, loaded with antioxidants and just super-refreshing. Can you tell I love peach tea?
Guru Natural Energy Drink: It tastes like a “regular” energy drink but it’s made with natural and organic ingredients, including ginseng, ginkgo and guarana.
Blue Monkey Coconut Water (Pulp Free): Our favorite coconut water for smoothies or drinking straight!
Annie’s Naturals Organic Ketchup: We put it on everything, so it’s a must-have at all times.
Blue Diamond Almond Breeze in Vanilla: I use this as a coffee creamer, because it has a rich vanilla flavor and no soy or lactose.

Tea and Coffee Favorites
Flavorganics Caramel Syrup: To reel in the spending, we’re trying to make our own fancy Seattle-inspired coffee drinks at home. We’ll have to try the other perfect-for-coffee flavors from this brand, like French Vanilla or maybe Hazelnut.
Torani Vanilla Flavoring Syrup: This is what most coffee houses carry, so naturally we should have it in stock too.
Spectrum Organic Extra Virgin Mediterranean Olive Oil: Having olive oil on hand at all times is a MUST. For only $16.99 you get almost 34 ounces and it tastes like restaurant quality.
Spectrum Canola Oil Spray: This is great for greasing pans when you’re baking, because it has no hydrogenated fat.
Quest Nutrition Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough Protein Bars: The chunks of chocolate are what makes these.
The Simply Bar in Caramel Peanut: The Quest Bars are fine, but I actually like these better. They have more fiber than sugar, no sugar alcohols, no dairy or gluten and they’re non-GMO and vegan.
KIND Almond & Apricot Fruit & Nut Bars: My new favorite KIND flavor. I just love the addition of coconut.

In the comments below, let me know which of these products you’ve tried (did you love it or hate it?) or if you have any suggestions for other essentials for our new house.
