Chocolate Chip Banana Bread Recipe

Whole Wheat Banana Bread with Chocolate Chips & Oats

Ingredients

1 cup whole wheat flour
½ cup old fashioned rolled oats
3 Tbsp. mini chocolate chips
1-½ tsp. cinnamon
1 tsp. baking powder
½ tsp. baking soda
3 small overripe bananas
1 large farm fresh egg
½ cup unsweetened applesauce
1 Tbsp. raw honey
1 tsp. vanilla extract

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 350 F and grease a loaf pan with coconut oil.
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine all ingredients. Use a potato masher to mash ingredients. Mix until thoroughly combined.
  3. Pour batter into prepared pan.
  4. Top loaf with slices of banana and sprinkles of chocolate chips and oats.
  5. Bake for 40 minutes or until a toothpick come out lean.
  6. Let cool before removing from baking pan. Remove and flip onto a cooling rack and allow to cool completely.
  7. Leftovers—if you have any—will keep in the freezer for several weeks.
