Whole Wheat Banana Bread with Chocolate Chips & Oats
Ingredients
1 cup whole wheat flour
½ cup old fashioned rolled oats
3 Tbsp. mini chocolate chips
1-½ tsp. cinnamon
1 tsp. baking powder
½ tsp. baking soda
3 small overripe bananas
1 large farm fresh egg
½ cup unsweetened applesauce
1 Tbsp. raw honey
1 tsp. vanilla extract
Directions
- Preheat oven to 350 F and grease a loaf pan with coconut oil.
- In a mixing bowl, combine all ingredients. Use a potato masher to mash ingredients. Mix until thoroughly combined.
- Pour batter into prepared pan.
- Top loaf with slices of banana and sprinkles of chocolate chips and oats.
- Bake for 40 minutes or until a toothpick come out lean.
- Let cool before removing from baking pan. Remove and flip onto a cooling rack and allow to cool completely.
