Happy Tuesday Newsday!
By now, we all know that a healthy diet is important. (And if you didn’t know, it is. Trust us.) But why is it that most of us still don’t eat what we’re supposed to — is it laziness? Cost of food? Lack of time? Vitacost.com set out to find the answer in our latest poll.
Of the 645 respondents, 43 percent described healthy eating as either “very difficult” or “somewhat difficult.”
Why? Well, it seems that cost is a major deterrent – nearly half named “expense” as the biggest obstacle to overcome.
While it’s true that many varieties of organic, healthy foods are more expensive than their conventional counterparts (think “real” mac & cheese vs. that fake orange stuff), it doesn’t have to be that way.
Vitacost.com has thousands of healthy foods at prices that won’t bust your budget. So you can afford to give your family the best while still saving money – it’s the best of both worlds!
