Ingredients
Instructions
  1. Preheat oven to 325 degrees F. Line cookie sheet with parchment paper or non-stick baking mat.
  2. In medium bowl, combine all ingredients except beet root powder. Mix well.
  3. Divide dough. Sprinkle beet root powder into one half. Blend powder in thoroughly until color is smooth. (Note: If dough feels too dry, add 1/2-1 teaspoon of water for easier blending.)
  4. In small increments, roll out each dough ball into a long rope to desired thickness.
  5. Gently twist ropes together. Cut into desired lengths and pinch ends together.
  6. Place on cookie sheet and curve end of each treat to create the hook of the candy cane.
  7. Bake 20-30 minutes or until treats look very dry. For softer treats, bake for less time.
  8. Transfer onto wire rack and let cool completely.
