Instructions
  1. In medium bowl, mix blackberries with sugar and lemon juice. Stir gently, then let sit at room temperature for 30 minutes until juicy.
  2. Preheat oven to 425 degrees F. Line baking sheet with parchment paper.
  3. In large bowl, whisk flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda and salt. Cut in cold butter with pastry cutter or fork until mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
  4. Add buttermilk and stir just until dough forms. Do not overmix.
