Brie & Pear Quesadillas with Honey-Lime Sauce

Really, it doesn’t even need to be reserved for party fare; why not simply treat yourself to a decadent, gourmet indulgence once in a while just because? Regardless of your reasoning, this brie quesadilla will fit the bill when you want something a little more special or out of the ordinary. The pear, brie, chives and honey-lime sauce give this quesadilla a unique flavor profile that’s the perfect intersection of savory, sweet and tangy. It’s the best of all worlds.

Ingredients

Quesadillas

4 flour tortillas
1 tsp. Simple Truth Organic Brown Sugar
3 oz. Brie cheese, thinly sliced
Cooking spray
2 pears, thinly sliced
1 Tbsp. chives, chopped

Honey-lime sauce

2 Tbsp. Simple Truth Honey
2 tsp. fresh lime juice
1/2 tsp. grated lime zest

Directions

  1. To make dipping sauce, whisk together honey with lime juice and zest. Set aside.
  2. In medium bowl, toss sliced brie, pear slices and chives with brown sugar. Spread one-fourth of mixture over half of each tortilla and fold plain half over top.
  3. Coat large, nonstick skillet with cooking spray and place over medium-high heat. Cook two tortillas in pan at once for two minutes on each side, or until crisp and slightly browned. Cut each tortilla into three wedges and serve with dipping sauce.
