“Cleaning your house while your kids are still growing up is like shoveling the walk before it stops snowing.”
-Phyllis Diller
Once a day, take 15 minutes to make your physical surroundings more joyful. This means something different to everyone.
For me, it’s cleaning, organizing and giving stuff away. Listen, let’s face the facts: Super-mom’s got five kids, so there’s only so much I can do, Super-people!
I surrender to the flow, and to the joy my twin toddlers get from pulling all the cereal boxes down from the pantry shelves and strewing Cheerios everywhere.
I’m by no means a perfectionist (that’s a prison””been there, done that). But putting things in their place, and seeing them there, even if only momentarily, gives me joy.
What I’ve noticed is that if you just work together with your crew”“”“whether it’s family or roommates or your higher and lower selves”“”“for a short time daily to make stuff look and feel nice, people don’t get as crabby.
I ain’t namin’ names.
Have the best day ever!
Namaste!
