Ingredients

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Lightly brush muffin pan wells with neutral oil.
  2. Place 2 wonton wrappers in each muffin pan well, overlapping and pressing against sides to form a cup. Brush inside of wonton wrappers with neutral oil.
  3. Bake about 15 minutes or until edges of cups are golden brown and wontons are cooked through.
  4. In large saucepan over medium heat, melt salted butter. Add apples, light brown sugar, granulated sugar, cinnamon and vanilla extract; mix well and add 3 tablespoons water. Cook about 10 minutes or until apples are at your desired softness.
  5. In small bowl, mix remaining 2 tablespoons water with cornstarch and add to apple mixture. Stir to thicken the filling.
  6. Remove wontons from oven and spoon apple filling into each cup.
  7. When cool enough to handle, remove cups from pan and serve warm as is or topped with a dollop of whipped cream, a dusting of powdered sugar or a drizzle of caramel.
