School lunches. We’ve talked about them ad nauseum. But the same disillusionment we have with packing them, our children have with eating them. You’re in a rut. You know it, they know it, the janitors at school know it (when they watch your little one throw away the carrot sticks you packed for the 80th time). So, along with those new shoes and backpacks, let’s come up with some new lunchbox ideas. Find some good swaps for the less-healthy options you were serving before, and create twists on old favorites.
If you dislike packing lunches almost as much as you despise what the cafeteria serves, these yummy snacks will take the guesswork out of filling those brown bags. You might even be able to get your kids to pack the lunches themselves. I know, don’t have a heart attack, it really is possible.
