Banana Mashup Baby Food

by | Updated: September 24th, 2018 | Read time: 1 minute

My 15-month-old daughter loves bananas. Almost every day, I dice up a quarter of a banana and let her feed it to herself in the high chair. She eats it with her fingers—if I give her a spoon she whips it around, throwing food, and eventually the spoon, all over the place. But sometimes plain banana doesn’t cut it, so instead I mash it and mix with cinnamon, coconut oil and probiotic powder. Making baby food is often more cost-effective than buying it, plus there’s the added bonus that you know exactly what your little one is eating. It’s a win-win! I just make sure that I’m the one holding the spoon when she eats this nutritious snack, so I can be sure it will end up in her mouth instead of on the floor, the walls and the kitchen counters.
