You make yourself a smoothie almost every morning and your little one, seated nearby in her high chair, always asks for a sip. You can’t share yours, but you can make one that’s just for her! With a simple smoothie, you can get your baby started on eating greens and superfoods at a young age. Try it as a healthy breakfast and save leftovers for an afternoon snack. A soft-tip baby spoon and muslin snap bib are not required for serving but very much suggested!
Yields 1-2 servings
Ingredients
1 handful organic spinach
1/2 banana
1/4 cup frozen, organic wild blueberries
1 Tbsp. water, if needed
1/8 tsp. ground cinnamon
2 tsp. hemp seeds
1/4 tsp. baby probiotic powder
Directions
- In a food processor, combine spinach, banana and blueberries. Pulse to chop, adding water if needed (though the blueberries will thin out as they melt).
- Add hemp seed and probiotic powder and blend until smooth.
- Serve to your bib-wearing baby with a spoon.
