Citrus Wellness Shot with Turmeric

You’ve heard about the amazing health benefits of turmeric and you like what you hear. But its bold and distinctive flavor is not exactly your cup of tea. How do you sneak this rich spice into your diet without dealing with the strong aftertaste? Simple! You follow this quick, easy recipe! Lemon and lime mask the turmeric flavor, so you just taste a refreshing lemonade. Toss back a shot of this delicious beverage whenever you need a boost.

Juice Recipe: Lemon, Lime and Turmeric

Ingredients

2 tsp. turmeric
2-3 cups filtered water
1 lime, squeezed and juiced
3 lemons, squeezed and juiced

Directions

  1. In a glass jar or container, combine all ingredients and stir until turmeric is fully incorporated.
  2. Let chill in the refrigerator for up to two days.
  3. Shake or stir before serving.

Notes: Want to kick it up a notch? Add 1/2 teaspoon of cayenne pepper. Too bitter? Add a sweetener like stevia, agave, coconut nectar or maple syrup.
