Whoever decided to dress up hardboiled eggs and serve them to guests knew what they were doing. Deviled eggs are now, and forever, a party staple. And although there’s nothing wrong with the traditional recipe, it could definitely use an update! Whether you’re hosting brunch, a family picnic or a friendly dinner, this smoked-salmon-and-cream-cheese-stuffed eggs appetizer will definitely win your attendees over! Plate these beauties atop a bed of fresh greens and sprinkle with chopped radishes, celery or cucumber.
Ingredients
12 eggs, hard boiled, peeled and halved lengthwise
6 oz. smoked salmon, chopped
3 oz. cream cheese
3/4 cup sour cream
3 Tbsp. mayonnaise
3 Tbsp. minced chives
1-1/2 Tbsp. lemon juice
3/4 tsp. dried garlic
3/4 tsp. dried onion
1 tsp. poppy seeds
1-1/2 tsp. sesame seeds
Salt and pepper to taste
Directions
- In medium bowl, combine sour cream, cream cheese, mayonnaise and lemon juice.
- Carefully scoop out egg yolks; set egg whites aside. Add yokes and salmon to mixture; use a fork to mash and mix until well combined.
- Season mixture with garlic powder, dried onion, poppy seeds, sesame seeds, salt and pepper.
- Once combined, spoon yolk mixture into egg white wells and top with finely chopped chives and veggies if desired.
