These DIY dog treats are baked up with the most wholesome, safe ingredients – no refined sugar, artificial sweeteners, salt or cocoa in this recipe! The just-like-gingerbread flavor comes from a mixture of sweet potato puree, peanut butter and pure, organic molasses. Shape the dough into mini bones for extra-festive presentation.
Ingredients
1-1/2 cups quick oats or rolled oats
2 Tbsp. organic molasses
2 tsp. pure maple syrup
1/2 tsp. cinnamon
1/4 tsp. ginger
1/2 cup sweet potato puree, burtternut squash puree or pumpkin puree
2 Tbsp. creamy peanut butter
Directions
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Line baking sheet with parchment paper
- In food processor, blend all ingredients to thick dough consistency.
- Use hands to shape dough into cookie-like balls; arrange on baking sheet.
- Bake treats for 20-25 minutes or until golden brown. Let cool 15 minutes before serving.
(Note: Treats should be kept no longer than one day at room temperature. Store in refrigerator for up to a week. Treats may also be frozen for up to a month; thaw before use.)
