I like to start my mornings with a shot. I toss one back from my trusty shot glass and I know my day is off to a great start. Yes, you read that correctly. But no, I’m not talking about alcohol. The shot that gets me going first thing is a delicious blend of green tea, spirulina and matcha. This green goodness gives me a major nutritional boost no matter the time of the day. You can drink it hot, over ice or chilled. I like it best before breakfast with agave, lemon and chia seeds.
Ingredients
2 bags of green tea
¼ tsp. matcha powder
¼ tsp. spirulina
4 cups boiling water
Sweetener of your choice, to taste
Directions
- Steep green tea in boiling water for 3-5 minutes
- In a small bowl, whisk together two tablespoons of steeped green tea with spirulina, matcha and sweetener.
- Pour green mixture back into tea. Stir to thoroughly combine.
- Let cool and place in the refrigerator to chill. Serve in a shot glass.
