Green Tea Shooter with Spirulina & Matcha

I like to start my mornings with a shot. I toss one back from my trusty shot glass and I know my day is off to a great start. Yes, you read that correctly. But no, I’m not talking about alcohol. The shot that gets me going first thing is a delicious blend of green tea, spirulina and matcha. This green goodness gives me a major nutritional boost no matter the time of the day. You can drink it hot, over ice or chilled. I like it best before breakfast with agave, lemon and chia seeds.Green Tea Shot with Matcha Powder

Ingredients

2 bags of green tea
¼ tsp. matcha powder
¼ tsp. spirulina
4 cups boiling water
Sweetener of your choice, to taste

Directions

  1. Steep green tea in boiling water for 3-5 minutes
  2. In a small bowl, whisk together two tablespoons of steeped green tea with spirulina, matcha and sweetener.
  3. Pour green mixture back into tea. Stir to thoroughly combine.
  4. Let cool and place in the refrigerator to chill. Serve in a shot glass.
