Plateaus are nice when you’re hiking a mountain. They’re not so nice when you’re working toward a goal. Vitacost Health Raiser of the Week, Krista, hit one of those nothing-will-budge moments but quickly found a path around it. When you’re working harder and harder each day without any noticeable progress, that’s a clear sign something needs to change. Who knows? Krista’s solution may work just as well for you.

Set Goals for Fitness & Raise Health with Krista G.

What does health mean to you?

Health means living a balanced life of healthy eating, maintaining good relationships and working out in whatever fashion you prefer. The most important part is that you enjoy your strength workouts and cardiovascular training. For me, setting new goals has been key to maintaining my health.

What inspired you to start living a healthy life?

I grew up playing sports, working out and eating relatively healthy. But, this year, I found myself hitting a plateau. I wanted to set new goals and see new results, so I started working with a personal trainer at Lifetime Fitness. I’ve really enjoyed the dedication and commitment to sculpting my body, so much so that I’m currently training for my first bikini competition! Anything is possible with hard work and determination!

What are three things you do to stay healthy?

  1. Fuel my body with nutrient-rich foods, while still allowing myself occasional treats
  2. Get adequate sleep
  3. Switch up my workouts every four weeks or so

What is one motivational quote that you live by?

“Where you invest your love, you invest your life.” – Mumford & Sons

If you were stranded on a desert island, what Vitacost product could you not live without?

I can’t live without MaraNatha Creamy Almond Butter. It’s the best one I’ve tried, because it’s so creamy. For a low-calorie nut butter, I like PB2, because you can make it whatever consistency you want!

What advice do you have for someone who is trying to live healthier?

I say STICK WITH IT! Consistency is key. However, don’t let one off day, weekend or even month get you down. We aren’t always going to get in the best workout or be able to stick to our diet 100%, but always keep your goals in mind and never give up!
