Anyone can be born with, or develop, a serious health condition. But how you respond to the news says much more about who you are at your core. Natasha, the Vitacost Health Raiser of the Week, chose to respond with light and love. After being formally diagnosed with a heart condition, she charged on with all the positive energy she could muster – and continues to do so with the support of healthy influencers, like her mom, children and Vitacost.com coworkers.

Health Raiser of the Week - Natasha

What does health mean to you?

Health is relative to the well-being of the whole body. This not only refers to being sick or afflicted with an ailment, but it’s having your physical and mental health in a good stable condition – at the same time.

What inspired you to start living a healthy life?

When I first discovered that I have SVT (supraventricular tachycardia, a heart condition), I knew I needed to begin living a healthy lifestyle for myself and for my children. Continuing to watch them grow is top priority.

What are three things you do to stay healthy?

  1.  I drink a gallon of water each day.
  2. I’ve started jogging/walking with my Vitacost coworkers.
  3. And, I’ve really cleaned up my diet.

What is one motivational quote that you live by?

I’ve been inspired by one of my coworker’s recent social media posts, where she said: “Finding one’s inner voice, allowing your eyes to be open to your true power, and accepting that you are part of a bigger and better plan set for you by God are all part of a spirit pushing you to seek positive changes and affirmations in your life. Can you feel the energy? Is it charging up the spark within you that wants positive change? To the eyes that read this post, I send you love, light and God’s energy to give you that charge you need to move forward.”

If you were stranded on a desert island, what Vitacost product could you not live without?

I live for ARO Lean Angel Food Cake Meal Replacement Drink!

What advice do you have for someone who is trying to live healthier?

Nothing in life comes easy or fast. It takes hard work and dedication to achieve life goals. Continue to stay on your path. The light at the end of the tunnel is very close!

Is there a role model you look up to?

My mother is a poem I’ll never be able to write. She is my back bone, my support system and my everything. She inspires me to be a better me and mother every single day.
