Cranberries are in season only a few short months every year, with the best of these plump, ripe treasures arriving at your supermarket just in time for the holidays. This simple Homemade Cinnamon Cranberry Sauce is made from fresh, whole berries and a touch of cinnamon and orange. It’s so easy to prepare, you’ll never consider serving “canned” again.
Homemade Cinnamon Cranberry Sauce
Makes 3-1/2 cups
Ingredients
2 (12-oz.) bags of fresh cranberries
¾ cup sugar
2 Tbsp. freshly squeezed orange juice
½ cup purified water
¼ tsp. cinnamon
2 Tbsp. fresh orange zest
¼ tsp. sea salt
¼ tsp. freshly ground pepper
Directions
1. Combine all ingredients in a large saucepan over medium heat. Bring to a boil, then reduce and cook for 30 minutes or until mixture thickens.
2. Remove from heat; transfer to a serving bowl.
