Please take a good look at this photo of a partially eaten, gluten-free, Nutella-slathered bagel my 5-year-old son Phoenix left without a second thought, to run after a ball or a spider or, perhaps, to grab a car from one of his twin 2-year-old brothers’ chubby fingers (the latter is most likely).
The point is, Phoenix ate what he wanted and then was off to the next thing.
He didn’t measure it, think about it, calculate it, worry about it, feel guilty about it, wonder about it, wish he had more of it, wonder if he should’ve eaten less of it, and/or then devour every bite while thinking about how many calories and fat grams and carbs it had or when he could have more of it, or anything, to eat.
No, Phoenix enjoyed some of it, as much as he wanted at that time, and moved on, without a second thought.
Kids are our biggest teachers. Watch them closely. You’ll learn a lot.
Have the best day ever!
Namaste!
